Accomplishments
John W. Baldante concentrates his practice in severe personal injury cases, such as brain and spinal cord injuries, victims of sexual abuse, medical malpractice litigation, and product liability law.
He is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He has received numerous honors for results he has been able to obtain for clients in a number of venues. Among his achievements, his closing argument in a multi-million dollar verdict was entered into the Association of Trial Lawyers of America’s Professional Techniques Library for Multi-Million Dollar Arguments. He has been cited for obtaining the largest single personal injury award of $12 million in the Tri-State region, only to top that effort a few years later by setting a new personal injury award threshold with a $16 million settlement.
John championed the largest civil rights case of its time against the City of Philadelphia when he obtained a multi-million result for a young innocent African-American man who was wrongly shot by a Philadelphia Police Officer. His $4.5 million verdict for an obstetrical malpractice still reigns as the largest medical malpractice verdict ever in Gloucester County, New Jersey. A multi-million verdict he acquired in New York City was a benchmark result holding that physicians are obligated to fully inform patients about the option of lumpectomy for the treatment of breast cancer. John advocated a successful $7 million award on behalf of a young six-year old girl who had been sexually abused, and litigated a complex acetylene tank explosion case, which concluded in a $5 million result. A $12 million award in a complicated highway construction lawsuit and a national benchmark in a product liability claim involving the failure of sports equipment have been among John’s many recent accomplishments. John has advocated successfully for hundreds of NFL football players in the NFL Concussion Litigation and fought tenaciously for hundreds of victims of clergy sexual abuse. John range as an attorney has encompassed a large variety of catastrophic personal injury cases, ranging from medical malpractice, product liability, sex abuse cases, FELA litigation, severe brain injuries, amputations, quadriplegia and much more. Virtually each year since the 1990s, John’s verdicts and/or settlements have been among the largest personal injury awards both in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and he has been awarded the designation of both Philadelphia Super Lawyer and New Jersey Super Lawyer every year since the inception of these awards by Philadelphia Magazine, Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Magazine, New Jersey Monthly and New Jersey Super Lawyers Magazine.
John received his B.A. from the University of Maryland where he was a Rhodes Scholar nominee and obtained his J.D. from Widener Law School.
